Dr. Dejun Tony Kong (Ph.D from Washington University in St. Louis) is an Assistant Professor of Management in the Bauer College of Business at the University of Houston. His research centers around the issue of how to enable people to be more cooperative and prosocial such that they can reach greater good and be more productive collectively. He addresses this issue from the perspectives of trust, positive psychology, and workplace diversity. He has published over 30 journal articles, some of which appeared in the Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Applied Psychology, and Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, as well as a co-edited book, titled “Leading through Conflict: Into the Fray.” He has received paper awards from the International Leadership Association and the Emerald Literati Network, and the LeRoy and Lucille Melcher Faculty Excellence Award for Research from the Bauer College of Business. He has served on multiple editorial review boards, including the Journal of Management, Journal of Organizational Behavior, Journal of Trust Research and Leadership Quarterly, and been an ad-hoc reviewer for numerous management and psychology journals. He was also a guest editor of the Journal of Trust Research special issue on trust in negotiations and repeated bargaining.
