Timothy J. Tardiff is a Principal at Advanced Analytical Consulting Group (AACG). He received his B.S. in mathematics from the California Institute of Technology and his Ph.D. in social science from the University of California, Irvine. He has more than 30 years of academic and consulting experience, including participation in many legal and regulatory proceedings regarding telecommunications, economics, intellectual property, and antitrust. His research focuses on telecommunications, software, transportation, energy, and public utilities. His recent telecommunications research and consulting has analyzed the effects of convergence and growing intermodal competition on whether incumbent firms should be considered dominant in the provision of certain services and the regulatory and antitrust implication of such determinations. He has participated in regulatory and legal proceedings in over 25 states, before the United States Federal Communications Commission and Department of Transportation, and in Canada, Japan, New Zealand, Peru, Australia, and Trinidad and Tobago. He has published extensively in economics, telecommunications, and transportation journals, including the American Economic Review, the Journal of Regulatory Economics, the Journal of Competition Law & Economics, the Antitrust Law Journal, the Review of Network Economics, and the Federal Communications Law Journal.
